Joel Spies Receives Prestigious Award of Distinguished Service
Forest Hill, MD – Joel Spies of Rainbow Ecoscience in Minnetonka, Minn. received the Award of Distinguished Service from the Professional Grounds Management Society® (PGMS®) during the Society's 2024 Annual Awards Celebration held on October 17 in conjunction with the 2024 Annual Conference “Transform” & Equip Expo in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 15 - 18.
The Award of Distinguished Service recognizes outstanding service from a board or committee member that goes above and beyond what is expected. Spies’ has been the Vice President of Sales for Rainbow Ecoscience since 2002 where he oversees business development, marketing strategy, and engages with clients to help solve their problems. He has brought those same skills to PGMS by leading Rainbow Ecoscience to support the Society as a Partner in Professionalism. In 2021, he volunteered for the Supplier Representative role on the PGMS Board, citing how rewarding PGMS involvement was for him and his desire to contribute to the Society’s growth. He is currently part of the strategic “Fostering Fellowship Engagement” work group, helping ensure that PGMS has a strong network of community and collaboration that advances the Grounds Management profession. His energy, insights, and passion for preserving tree and landscapes, along with steadfast commitment to growing the professionalism of the green community, has been a true asset to PGMS and the Board.
